This event began in 2001 and was founded by four high school teachers, as a not for profit organization , to offer high-school and CÉGEP students a quality multidisciplinary robotics competition in an entertaining, high-intensity environment. Students are challenged to build a robot and to produce a video, web site, and built a kiosk presentation. All tasks are entirely student-run and places them at the centre of their own learning process . The event is highly motivating for participants and thus counter school dropout rates.
